The Surrounding Circumstances

Something spectacular happened a few days back.
I received a phone call!
Receiving a phone call is probably not spectacular, but it was from a spectacular friend, and probably at a spectacular time.
It was a spectacular time to me because I needed encouragement.
I am usually the one doing the encouragement most times; asking people how they are doing and profering solutions where there are challenges.

I was sitted all alone and doing some thinking, with my phone and pencil at work.
My phone began to ring and I looked at the screen only to behold that it was this acquaintance of mine.
“How are you?”, she asked and “how is work and all?”.
“I am balanced”, I said “but reflecting, not working. Re-evaluating my strategies. Waste of precious time and energy, without commensurate dividends to show for it, has been the previous case”.
With a few words I made, she already got the point.
“Everything will be fine”, she said “take one step at a time. I just called to be sure you are good, and I’m sure you will be”.
I then asked her; “So how are you?” and she responded “fine”.
The call had stirred some happiness and my head manufactured thoughts.
I converted them to words and spilled them on the phone:
“fine enough to check on others; that must mean very fine! I’m so happy that you just called, it sure made a difference”. She laughed and played on with more words; very encouraging words. And though we share different orientations, she could connect with me.

Most people usually impose their opinions and criticise things that others do.
“Why would you be reflecting, when you should be working?”, “you seem to have started again… Bla bla bla bla”.
This spectacular friend of mine, did no such thing. She simply encouraged me and assured me that all would be well.
It was just a simple call but it moved her from being just an acquaintance to a friend.
I picked her last call with indifference but I may pick the next with excitement.
Orientation is not the point; the point is resonance.
When people begin to resonate, resistance fades away.
Encouragement can find expression and progress will increase.
This spectacular friend of mine, was “encouraging” with her call.
I composed the Sms/Text message for her in appreciation for her encouragement.

Here is another spectacular sms for another spectacular friend.
Her name is Nancy and I call her “My Precious”.
I love her good looks and the way she talks.
She is really a reasonable young girl.
She is very rational and logical.
She is also diligent and thorough.
This was the sms that suggested the name I now choose to call her:

“Precious things are of great value & so are precious people.
To parents, you’re a precious child.
To me, you’re a precious friend.
Sleep tight, my precious!

I love text messages a lot, so anybody I love would definitely receive quite a lot of them.
I thought of a creative way to say goodnight to this precious, spectacular and encouraging friend of mine. That was how this sms came about.
Daily Prompt: My Precious made me to dig up this sms from my sent items and update this post.
