Panic, Doubt And Fear

Root them out!
Life goes on, we keep growing, and things keep happening.
In all of these, I seem to agree with the majority that; the only constant thing is change!
Among the numerous things that change are information and the way they are both stored and retrieved.
Over time, numerous technologies have surfaced. Some have stood the test of time and some have been blown away with the wind.
Their names and operations have been changing along with the ages.

Data processing, storage and retrieval has actually answered numerous different names and taken different forms over the ages but one fact is that information has continued to thrive irrespective of the medium by which it is passed or interpreted.
I don’t necessarily mean a particular piece of information because that changes as well. I just mean information and what it stands for. It takes various forms at various times. At some points it advocates something and at other points it advocates the exact opposite. Once, everybody believed that the earth was flat; it was heresy to say it was round. Today everybody agrees that the earth is spherical.
The issue here is that information continues to be passed down but there could be a change in the information being passed down.
In other words, information keeps being spread over time but it changes in form, constituents and nomenclature.

Today we hear of and deal with various file formats. These days, the file format may not determine the information contained in a file but may just be able to give you an idea of a certain range of possibilities.
For example, the file format called mp3 would most probably be a sound clip but you never can tell whether it says that the world is flat or that the world is round and spherical.
Numerous other file formats exist with different nomenclatures such as jpeg, mpegav, mp4, ppt, doc, txt, exe, dot, dox, cad, etc, ranging from pictures to videos, to slides, to texts, to an endless range of varieties.

Pdf happens to fall into one of the modern categories of file formats that have stood the test of time. It presents graphics and texts in a very portable way that makes you have a book without papers and makes it easy to print at will. Most eBooks appear on this format and you probably found this piece with that in mind.
Well, pdf in the context of this my writing has nothing to do with file formats or the storage, processing and retrieval of information but it has to do with information that could stand the test of time.

Over the ages, men have failed and men have succeeded.
Many draw back in the face of opportunity while many go for the catch, simply because opportunity comes veiled in challenges.
To succeed, we must be brave and courageous.
We must dare to venture into areas that are tough and continue overcoming the obstacles that arise until we attain the results that attracted us.
I want to draw your attention to a set of counterparts that must not seize your attention if you are willing to dare to take the bull by the horn and succeed.
I will do that with an acronym: PDF.

Like I mentioned earlier, PDF here does not refer to a file format, neither does it represent a form of storage of information but is extracted as an acronym from the words; panic, doubt and fear!
The moment any or all of these, capture(s) a person’s attention, the most likely occurrence is that the person will back out from the ongoing quest.
These culprits have fear as their father or do I say; senior partner?
Panic can be described as some form of intense fear that is triggered suddenly. This type could be infectious, in that it can even spread through a crowd.
Doubt, on the other hand is mild but it generates a feeling or thought of being unsure and that dilutes every desire, drive or determination to step out.
Fear can create a thousand and one excuses why any venture is not worth taking.
Someone describes fear as; false evidences appearing real.
All of these culprits either subtly or intensely try to seize our attention and focus them on the risks, difficulties and impossibilities that have the slightest chance of existing in a mission.
Pictures, sounds, feelings, experiences that would scare us away from doing the things that we must do to achieve the results that we desire are usually amplified, magnified and intensified by the PDF syndrome.
We must not give it a chance.

Don’t be manipulated or confined; Live Your Own Life.

Panic, doubt and fear are always creeping around but must not be given a chance to dominate any scene. They cause tension, which the brave would always convert to a motivating force.
Whenever PDF or any of its constituent members show up in a situation, we must not back out in a hurry but look out for prospects of possibilities and hope.
We must ask questions like; is there a better way?
Has something like this happened before?
Am I making up excuses or is this really the best I can do?
Answering some of these questions will definitely create a new path or generate some confidence to continue in the current path.
I choose to believe that for every problem, there is a solution so, for these chaps that make up the PDF syndrome, I’ll recommend a few tips apart from just asking questions.

Well, a few of them are still relatives of asking questions;

First, whenever there is panic or a tendency for that, align with people that have proven to be courageous in that regard. Just as panic can be contagious, so can courage be infectious. Their expertise and experience will rub off on you.
Note that whenever you are naive and new to a field, you could easily be exploited or manipulated by those who know the in and out of that field. Always be careful to pick reliable and trustworthy people if you want to avoid learning the hard way.

Next, whenever you are bothered by doubt; endeavor to study and make enquiries concerning the subject.
Don’t quit when you doubt, seek clarification and do so objectively to avoid arriving at a biased conclusion.
Finally, when ravaged by fear, remember that you must not fall prey to the same tyrant that has rid many of their dreams.
Think, ask, decide and act!
Experience builds courage and confidence faster than stories and lectures.

With the above tips or pieces of information, you must have gathered sufficient tactics, routes and maneuvers that would enable you push through the same obstacles that have either strangled or suffocated the dreams of many through the ages.
Defeat the PDF syndrome and you will be able to establish legacies that will live through the ages ahead and despite all odds and challenges, stand the test of time.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

Time changes but legacies linger!

About teeceecounsel

Who am I really? Can that be defined yet? Probably by the time I'm long gone and all the pieces of my activities are compiled and analysed then you can know what you want to know about me. Meanwhile, I write. Not because I love writing but because I love people. I love to care and love to share. I'm a deep thinker and I love to believe in the impossible. The ideal is attainable and a shot at it must be given. Don't say 'It won't work' rather ask 'how will it work? Nobody is ever doomed unless they made the choice. To resist good and to adopt evil is already doom. To loose hope is to choose doom but to believe that every step is a passing phase leading towards your hope is to choose progress. I may go on and on but my posts say it all. I don't force you to agree, I only say enjoy!
