Confession: It is worth it, but I am Afraid

Fear or Success

Courage is What Truly Counts

https://misifusa.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/are-you-divergent/

Fear is one of the pillar roots of failure.
Other culprits are ignorance, laziness, misprioritization, lack of interest, indecision and peer pressure.
Fear is the subject for analysis in this post.
I have recently been sharing thoughts about taking responsibility and addressing escape escuses.
Here are some links to keep you updated.
“I am afraid” could be regarded as another escape excuse, but considering the sincerity and openness, I will take it to be a confession.
Fear is often the reason behind most excuses and the moment we identify it and face it, our chances for excellence skyrockets.
I want to give you this assurance that fear is not something new.
Fear is not peculiar to you.
Even great achievers have battled with fear.
This is just to let you know that you are not alone in this.
From your own words; “It is worth it, but I am afraid”, I can deduce that you have the desire to continue and I can also sense that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Since you are convinced that it is worth it, your problems are very much reduced. If I were you, I would face my fears, dive in headlong and go for the grabs.
Fear can be paralysing, and that is why we must keep a clear head to analyse things objectively and move beyond being emotional to being rational.
When you have come to the conclusion that a venture is worth it, you are at peace with the terms and you desire the dividends, you already have sufficient motivation to overcome your fears.
Motivation can propel you to overcome;ignorance, laziness, misprioritization, lack of interest, indecision and peer pressure.
Fear is unique, because sometimes it defies common sense. It could be crippling and create an impression of hopelessness in situations. But no matter how devastating fear may appear to be, you can take charge of it right within your mind. Alter your thoughts, think of the brighter side, remind yourself of those that made it, repeat the procedure over and over again in your mind. Discuss with positively minded people. Take charge of the situation and say to yourself; “is it just this thing?
The magnitude you allote to it in your mind could be part of what intimidates you in the situation.
Figure out a way to forge ahead beyond your fears.
As long as you believe, you will overcome.
Once there is a will, there is a way.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
I once came across an acronym for fear that says fear is: False Evidences Appearing Real.

Don't be afraid

Fear

How will you feel if you are stopped by mirages and illusions?
How could you be deprived of your dreams, simply because you didn’t have the nerve to lift a finger when you should have?
How will you feel when you look back and see that there was no reason why you should not have succeeded only that you resigned out of fear?
What story will you have to tell when you need to give account of what you have achieved with your time?
Why should you even think of allowing fear to be the reason to have regrets?
Nip fear at the bud and move on.
Do it if it is worth it.

Fear of failure

Desire For Success

Everything you want is attainable, if only you can take the necessary steps.
Your chances of making a difference lie in doing things differently.
There is really a fear of change, but only change brings change.
You can’t keep doing the same thing and be expecting different results.
Gather the necessary courage to unleash the possibilities awaiting you behind you fears.

The other side of fear

Everything You Want

Identifying the fact that you are afraid and confessing it, is the first step to finding a solution.
Now that you know how much depends on the courage you choose to build, do that which must be done.
I would love you to share your story with smiles on your face and with a sense of fulfilment.
succumbing to your fears will only bring regrets later.
If truly it is worth it, then do it. Don’t let fear stop you.

About teeceecounsel

Who am I really? Can that be defined yet? Probably by the time I'm long gone and all the pieces of my activities are compiled and analysed then you can know what you want to know about me. Meanwhile, I write. Not because I love writing but because I love people. I love to care and love to share. I'm a deep thinker and I love to believe in the impossible. The ideal is attainable and a shot at it must be given. Don't say 'It won't work' rather ask 'how will it work? Nobody is ever doomed unless they made the choice. To resist good and to adopt evil is already doom. To loose hope is to choose doom but to believe that every step is a passing phase leading towards your hope is to choose progress. I may go on and on but my posts say it all. I don't force you to agree, I only say enjoy!

  1. Good post teecee. You have a deep and beautiful spirit.

Hello my dear friend! Posts of subscribers I follow have not been showing up on my emails, instead they were being sent to my bulk email folder! I have no idea why, but someone mentioned it had to do with WP always updating. Anyways, hence my lack of absence. How are you? My fear has always been flying, but I was able to conquer it back in Oct. to come to Colorado to visit. I must now go again on an airplane to go back to Philly. I am afraid of heights and being 30,000 feet above land and knowing I could fall instantly just makes me shiver. Anyways, what can I do? I just sit there and listen to music and hope my nerves calm down. Great post!

    • You are brave enough to face your fears, and that way, you will make rapid progress.
Feed your mind with positive thoughts.
Tell yourself it’s not a big deal.
Watch those who feel comfortable and try to imagine what they are thinking about.
Your nerves will always calm down when you don’t scare yourself by looking out of the window and when you don’t keep your concentration on the very fear itself.
I’m so glad you stopped by. I am also happy you shared your story of overcoming your fears.
It can only get better, just keep at it.
      Many cheers!

  3. Some choose to be spectators. That’s because it is all they can be and that is certainly not meant to belittle. But win or lose being IN the ring will be memory ever cherished and self validating.

    • Very well said; “But win or lose being IN the ring will be memory ever cherished and self validating”.
It is not worth missing the fun of a game for fear of loosing.
      Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

  4. Not sure Son that we can talk ourselves out of fear but as you shared what we think in our heart and what we focus on will bring good or bad actions and reactions. What does God say about our biggest fear Son and how to overcome it ……

1John 4:16-19 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

We aim to be perfected in Love…..

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.

Philippians 3:14-16 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, where to we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

2Timithy 3:17 That the man of God may be Perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

1 John 2:4-6 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith hebideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in Peace; and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.

    • I’m so sorry for the delayed response, Grannie Annie.
It is not in my nature to ignore comments, but once in a while, the human being might act like the human being that he is.
      Kindly accept my appologies.
I love the scriptures you extracted that exposes perfection. This is the bit I want to emphasise on; “There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.”
I see love as the most essential component of human existence.
Love makes all the difference and gives life a meaning.
Love gives us a reason to live for others and to contribute to the society.
Love extinguishes pride, jealousy, strife, malice and all the numerous vices that exist.
Indeed, love is the propelling factor to overcome fear and to succeed.
      No wonder God is love.
Certain things are worth doing in our lives, but because we lack the love to motivate us, we allow fear cripple us and crumble the operation.
      God will help us.
I always appreciate the effort you put into making reasonable contribution through your comments.
Keep up the good work and remain richly blessed.
God is a rewarder of diligence.
I appreciate you so much, my dearest Grannie Annie.
      Best regards to Ron.

      • It’s OK Son, I was more concerned that you may not have received my comment in your Inn box, some haven’t and I haven’t received their replies either.

We are to aim to be perfected in Love but not worldly love, God’s Love, we do not just sit back and hope it happens. After heart repentance which shows we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we put our Carnal flesh to death by choosing to walk in the Fruit of The Spirit, and rejecting Sin and He empowers us so we can and we are than Perfected in Love and so walk as Jesus walked now, not just after we die.

        Put the flesh to death……..

Romans 8 :12-15 Therefore, brothers/ sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. or if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

2 Corinthians 7: 1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

Galatians 24 -26 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Aim to be perfected in Love…..
