What is your view about being grateful?
I’ve given some thought to gratefulness.
Gratefulness has more to do with the disposition of our hearts and our feelings than the words we say for formality or scribble on the cards we present along with our gifts.
In as much as saying ‘thank you’, represents being grateful, gratefulness is much deeper and broader than that.
Simply put, gratefulness means feeling thankful.
Did you note the word, “feeling”?
How do you feel about life?
How do you feel about your relationships?
How do you feel about your performance?
How do you feel about what you have?
I just hope you feel thankful. That’s gratefulness, if you feel thankful.
Gratefulness is the key to increase.
Appreciating what you have is the secret to growing it.
Without appreciation, there will virtually be no attention, and without attention, neither cultivation nor germination would receive what they need.
What is the disposition of your heart?
Are you feeling thankful?
Are you grateful?
We may all have reasons to feel left-out, left-behind, inferior or prejudiced, but that only comes from comparison.
We often neglect the seemingly little privileges that we enjoy in life and complain that we don’t have spectacular privileges.
Have you appreciated the fact that you breathe?
Do you feel thankful for that?
Feeling thankful for both the little and big things we have, is what I call gratefulness.
We often complain about the manner we were addressed by friends, whereas, some people have no friends.
We get depressed about the way our families treat us, whereas, many people out there are homeless and without families.
Why nag about the choice of meals or the way food was prepared, when some people have no hope of where their next meal will come from.
Whatever our circumstances may be, we have enough reasons to be grateful.
Feeling thankful for little opportunities will spur us to make the best use of them, but being ungrateful will both deprive us of subsequent opportunities and drain us of the motivation to maximise the one at hand.
Life is like a building project. Each new moment provides the necessary building materials to move ahead. If we can’t recognise and appreciate the available materials, we would remain at the same spot, but if we accept the blocks as they come or make blocks out of the sand and cement that we receive, then we would make good progress.
Life may not give us blocks, but it would always give us the raw materials with which to make block.
Will you feel grateful when you see your next set of materials?
It’s up to you.
Gratefulness is the disposition of our hearts towards a feeling of thankfulness.
We have friends, families, colleagues, neighbours, opportunities, information, experiences and moments to be grateful for.
Gratefulness empowers us to recognise the next level.
Be grateful for what you have.
We have all we need to get to where we are going. All we need to do is to recognise them.
Recognise what you have, appreciate them and feel thankful them.
That’s when we can say that you are grateful.
Gratefulness will often reflect on your countenance.
Gratefulness is the reason for cheerfulness.
True cheerfulness cannot be faked.
“Pretence is difficult, genuine is constant”, as my honourable friend, Cobbies69 would always say.
There is always a reason to be grateful, when you find your reasons, you will also find a reason to increase and to improve cheerfully.
With the right reasons, you will also recognise the right paths or methods.
When we can recognise “why”, we would be able to discover “how”.
How do you feel about what you have?
There Is Always A Reason To Be Grateful
