Season is also defined as a period when a particular activity takes place.
Both definitions attach a time frame to when certain activities should be performed or are usually perfomed.
The activity of interest in this case is love.

Well, in as much as I would like to know your own personal perspective, I have a vague idea of the general perspective and ofcourse, I have my perspective.
The general perspective of love hovers around a very strong affection. This perspective often narrows this strong affection to particular people. Love is often associated with relationships.
