Have you ever considered what the mind has to do with progress?
Certain consideration end up in philosopy while an analysis of the mind is studied under psychology.
Well, let us see how philosophy and psychology apply to progress.
Progress has direction. If you know where you are going, all your work will be directed towards efficiency but if you don’t know where you are going, waste is inevitable.
Life seems vast and complicated with numerous options, each option has it’s conditions and consequences with variations as well.
Beating around the bush does not guarantee results.
Singleness of mind happens within the heart and neither out in the streets nor in the pages of books.
Peace sustains endurance, joy gives confidence to courage and love accelerates progress.
Establishing peace, joy and love within our hearts creates the required atmosphere to determine where we are going and what direction leads to that destination .
Progress has a direction that is determined by the destination.
All of these start from the mind.
Looking outward creates confusion and indecision because of the numerous choices, options, alternatives, variations and possibilities. But looking inward narrows down the countless possibiilities to preferences. Preferences are often unique and natural.
People function effectively in their preferences without much external motivation.
Most successful people seem to be self motivated.
Motivation ehances progress.
Self motivation enhances consistent inspiration, enthusiasm and progress.
Self motivation springs from the mind.
Progress has direction that is determined by the destination that is decided upon by the mind.
This philosophy is simply the psychology of progress.

Philosophy: The Psychology Of Progress
I once worked for a very intelligent young man who was so focused that he overlooked the suggestions of others. You can imagine the result.
This one got me laughing. Ofcourse, I can imagine the result! That intelligent young man probably never considered the statement; “two heads are better than one”. 🙂 Thanks for that nice one!
