There can’t be progress without direction.
One may be putting in so much effort but if they are not directed towards any particular thing, it will amount to nothing.
Working hard without a goal or a plan keeps one at the same level.
Ensure that you apply your time, energy and resources to worthwhile plans.
Is this too vague?
Alright, very recently I came across a number of people; one of them has worked as a carpenter since 1977 and is still at it without anything substantial to show.
He still roams the streets with a hammer and saw, looking for petty jobs to do.
Another runs a payphone business. I first saw his stand around 2005 and surprisingly I saw no significant difference in his location, services or efficiency.
All of these people probably make a lot of money on daily basis but have no specific plan or strategy to monitor or ensure progress.
Progress is not just working hard but working smart and efficiently towards making a difference.
Time must not leave us at the same level.
My speculations may not be exactly right because impressions are not necessarily facts. Sometimes, there is more to a thing than meets the eye.
Work beyond just the fact that you are working; work towards making possibilities for a better future.
If you can do much now, you should definitely be able to do much more tomorrow.
Some people would always say; ‘all things being equal’.
Well, we all know that things don’t weigh the same and all things are never equal. So, we’ve got to create the possibilities that we believe and dream.
Have an aim for a better future as you work today.
Being busy is not necessarily accomplishing much.
Weigh the things you do and the results they produce.
Indeed, there can’t be progress without direction.
