Nothing

The best thing to say when you have nothing to say is nothing!

About teeceecounsel

Who am I really? Can that be defined yet? Probably by the time I'm long gone and all the pieces of my activities are compiled and analysed then you can know what you want to know about me. Meanwhile, I write. Not because I love writing but because I love people. I love to care and love to share. I'm a deep thinker and I love to believe in the impossible. The ideal is attainable and a shot at it must be given. Don't say 'It won't work' rather ask 'how will it work? Nobody is ever doomed unless they made the choice. To resist good and to adopt evil is already doom. To loose hope is to choose doom but to believe that every step is a passing phase leading towards your hope is to choose progress. I may go on and on but my posts say it all. I don't force you to agree, I only say enjoy!

I had a friend at school who used to say “If you have nothing to say, say it.”

    • Smiles! When nothing is worth saying then saying nothing is worth it! Either simply saying ‘I have nothing to say’ or just not saying anything can do the trick. Your friend’s approach is the first. Good one.

Years ago I read a sci fi novel or short story in which government communications had become even more complex that they are at the moment. In order to negotiate between one another each government had a large computer. They put the hundred-paged documenst they received into the machine, which analysed, then issued a small ribbon of paper saying something like e.g. “If you do not withdraw your troops from the border we shall declare war.”

At a certain point another huge document arrived. It was put into the machine which whirred away for several minutes, then presented the expected piece of paper summarising when the document actually said when all the unnecessary verbiage had been removed. When they picked up the piece of paper, it was completely blank. πŸ˜›

  3. Well said, and so true! God Bless!

  4. Haha…now that’s is some sound advice! Something similar that I remember my mom saying when I was younger is that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

    • Smiles! There really are a whole lot of quotes about things to say! I agree with your mum to an extent. It’s much better not to say anything at all than not to say something nice. But then, niceness is relative. The same word may be considered nice by one and unfair by another. Thanks for that perspective!

  5. Yes, well said! πŸ™‚
