Night Thoughts

Night has come and my eyes are dull.
The day was tough and I need some rest.
I’ve got some cloths to wash and I have my phone to charge.
My siblings want to play and my parents choose to pray;
the very best way to end a busy day.
While daddy prayed, it came; Cousin had a daughter and it’s brother’s birthday!
I have to place a call or to send a message.
Well, since there’s no call credit, I’ll rather send a text!
This goes to my cousin and to his pretty wife:
“Congratulations!
In addition to your previous profile portfolio “Husband and Wife”, you have been further confired with the title and responsibility of “Father and Mother”.
It’s a whole new dimension that involves putting up with much more!
May God stuff you with grace and patience to be the very best!
Cheers! ”

By now my eyes are open after struggling with that text.
It’s time to wish my brother a happy birthday.
We planned to meet this morning but things didn’t work as planned
so since I’m left with message it’s got to be a sound one!

“There truely may be a friend that sticks closer than a brother but there you are: “a brother that’s worth more than a thousand friends”.
We may not have found our way to each other on this special day; the anniversary of your birth but it’s neither about the wines we may have popped nor the gifts I might have bought, you are worth much more than whatever we both would have brought.
Memories of the past linger; the good times and the bad but may the years ahead give you much more than only fame.
A good name that will remain much long after were gone!
Be strong and courageous as you build legacies that will stand the test of time.
Happy birthday my brother! The world knows about this and may want to know how you fare. Take responsibility!
Many Cheers!
-Tc. ”

Now that I’ve sent these I really feel fulfilled.
We rarely have the chance to appreciate family but they really are the ones that truely love us.
Take time and show some love to those so close to you.
The ones you send on errands and scold when they blunder.
The ones that wash your dishes and pack your travel bag.
There’s someone you’re neglecting that really cares for you.
Someone deserves your sweet words and maybe you don’t know
but since I’m now inspired, let me wash my dirty clothes.

Who am I really? Can that be defined yet? Probably by the time I'm long gone and all the pieces of my activities are compiled and analysed then you can know what you want to know about me. Meanwhile, I write. Not because I love writing but because I love people. I love to care and love to share. I'm a deep thinker and I love to believe in the impossible. The ideal is attainable and a shot at it must be given. Don't say 'It won't work' rather ask 'how will it work? Nobody is ever doomed unless they made the choice. To resist good and to adopt evil is already doom. To loose hope is to choose doom but to believe that every step is a passing phase leading towards your hope is to choose progress. I may go on and on but my posts say it all. I don't force you to agree, I only say enjoy!

Really well written verse of words, and I wish families, especially mine were more, what we say, ‘family like’ again well done and glad it fulfills.

    • I’m really glad you appreciate it. Families have diverse structures these days but it’s good to be happy for the one you have and to appreciate those around you as much as you can.

  3. Very nice post and tribute to families! I wrote a poem to my sisters that you may enjoy:

  4. I really love how you said that there is a “brother that is worth more than a thousand friends”. That really touched me since
I see my younger sister and my twin that way. God bless you 😀
